SUMMARY: Responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers while funding and servicing commercial and construction loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with the Commercial Loan Department to establish and strengthen customer relationships in the servicing of commercial and construction loans.
  • Order title policies, insurance policies, flood determinations, UCC searches and appraisals to assist with the Commercial Lending underwriting review.
  • Review preliminary loan file and verify necessary documents are sufficient and/or provide feedback on missing or outstanding items to the underwriter.
  • Create loan documents using the LaserPro system based on loan parameters of loan agreements and ensure they are accurate.
  • Input information accurately into the Bank’s core processing system to complete the loan record for funding and servicing.
  • Process renewals and extensions as requested.
  • Utilize reports for tracking and problem solving.
  • Perfect and release collateral related to all Commercial and Business loans.
  • Support Loan Operations Department with other duties as needed.
  • Present ideas to Loan Operations Manager to improve efficiencies within the Loan Operations Department.
  • Provide support for branches and internal departments.
  • Adhere to 1st Security Bank of Washington policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma and at least two years commercial loan servicing experience within a financial institution.
  • Basic knowledge of all applicable Regulations that pertain to this position is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Demonstrates service excellence in end-user support.
  • Ensures service level commitments are strongly adhered to for both internal and external customer service.
  • Manages the bank’s LAN and WAN including users, groups, security, policies, printers, asset tracking, and connectivity between locations.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Proven successful project management experience.
  • Knowledge of information security standards and practices.

POSITION TITLE: LOAN OFFICER – RETAIL (Commission)

SUMMARY

The loan officer’s primary function at 1st Security Bank is the sale of quality home loan products which include direct to Fannie Mae held for sale loans with servicing retained and servicing released, FHA/VA, brokered, bank portfolio HELOC’s and bank portfolio permanent home loans. The loan officer will structure the loan in order to meet the client’s goals along within current underwriting criteria. The loan officer will work with the clients from origination through funding and will maintain a long term relationship with the customer to create future lending opportunities. The loan officer is responsible to produce quality loans at or above minimum loan volume.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Outside Commission Sales. The origination of new mortgage loan opportunities within existing and potential customer base.
  • Input or import all borrower information into the 1003 (LOS)
  • Structure the transaction, review and understand AUS findings in detail and to ensure borrower supporting documentation (i.e. income, assets, liabilities and credit) match the information provided on the 1003
  • Required in person or phone interviews with borrowers. Provide guidance and support to borrowers on the loan processing file flow including an introduction to assigned loan processor
  • Works with processor on challenging follow up documentation.
  • Ensures Federal and State required compliance documentation is completed at application.
  • Lock’s the customer loan rate/program using or internal LOS.
  • Manages locks requiring corrective steps such as extensions or relocks
  • Communicates to borrower and/or their agents regarding loan approval, suspense or denial
  • Mortgage loan production at/above required volumes
  • Presentations to realtor, builder and other potential business sources.
  • Reviewing the application for other banking product opportunities.
  • Creating interest in the advantages of using 1st Security Home Lending and other banking services
  • Marketing activities to promote the 1st Security brand.
  • Positive attitude and enjoys working with others within the company

REQUIRED EDUCTION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2+ years mortgage company experiences as a commissioned loan officer within the Puget Sound area
  • High level of interpersonal and sales skills
  • Experience working at a company using quality origination software and paperless technology
  • NMLS License is required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Loan Accountant –
Administrative Center

Summary:

Individual will be responsible for general accounting entries and reconciliations including, but not limited to, loan level GL accounting, allowance for Loan and Lease Losses accounting, troubled Loan accounting, other real estate owned accounting, and general daily GL accounting (reconciliations). Responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of assigned general ledger accounts on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis. Individual must be comfortable working with all levels of management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reconciles daily transactions related to loan and deposit activities.
  • Monitors assigned GL’s to ensure accurate and timely entries.
  • Ensures the timely posting of accounting entries to meet month and quarter end deadlines.
  • Works with bank department managers, including commercial and consumer lending.
  • Responsible for ongoing data integrity and support related to GL’s assigned.
  • Responsible for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the prompt reporting of impacted changes with GAAP to the Controller.
  • Responsible for recommending improvements to processes in order to facilities efficiencies.
  • Cross trains within the accounting department including deposit recons, investments posting and details, accounts payable, daily cash items and fixed assets.
  • Maintains daily, monthly, and quarterly reports in line with bank, FDIC, and SEC reporting guidance.
  • Creates accruals in line with proper income/expense in the period of recognition.

Required knowledge and skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of bank accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • Experience with OSI core operating systems a plus.
  • Experience with excel spreadsheets and formula creation.
  • Ability to problem-solve and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong customer service skills required for internal customer communications.
  • Ability to work effectively and openly will all departments.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Some overtime required to meet reporting deadlines.

Secondary Market Associate – Lock Desk

We are expanding our Mortgage Lending/Home Loan Division and have an exciting new career opportunity available for an experienced Secondary Marketing Associate for the Lock Desk at our Mountlake Terrace office!

The Secondary Marketing Associate is responsible for registration and locking all secondary market loans for the Home Loan Division in addition to performing departmental analysis and reporting and assisting the department in the pricing and selling of loans into the Secondary Market.

Other job functions include:

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the Lock Desk including registration and locking of loans coming through the secondary desk in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison for existing and new investors.
  • Present and explain pricing scenarios for Loan Originators with specialty lenders.
  • Maintain proper margins on completed locks.
  • Responsible for making necessary changes and obtaining extensions when requested.
  • Perform purchase reconciliation and follow up on loans sold into the Secondary Market
  • Assist in maintaining internal pricing models and performing morning pricing uploads and mid-day pricing changes
  • Assist in the allocation of closed loans to trades using Best Execution
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
  • Analyze loan valuation models, loan pipeline data, hedge reporting and other loan-related data.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related area preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Minimum of 5 years mortgage industry experience with minimum of 3 years Secondary Marketing experience.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of sale of mortgage loans into the secondary market.
  • Communication – must have good communication skills both written and oral
  • Analytical – must process good analytical skills and be able to research information related to loan locks
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, spreadsheets, and database lending software.
  • Ability to manage and update processes that will be utilized throughout the organization.
